YOU ARE THE ONE.

You are the one.

Among a million I will choose you.
Even two I will still choose,
For you,
though I may not be good for the gander, I will be good for the goose.
Like a merchant counts the days to the arrival of his goods,
So I wait patiently wait upon your love, for you are my Zeus.
Your people may hate me for all I care but for you I will call a truce.
You have fought my wars and granted me freedom, you, are my “Robert the Bruce”
Seeing you smile cools my heart like a fresh morning Juice.
For you, I will lose all that I have,
Just so I could be with you,
For you are the one,
That makes my heart , bloom, with love.
You are the one.

BRANCHES OF THE SAME TREE.

I look at my hands and each has five fingers,
Though not the same,
Their difference makes them unique making the hand effective.
One is large and shot, Another thin and tall.
One is tiny in all ways, Another is Normal in all ways,
Yet only one hand wears the ring.

In a thin file you’ll see them.
Each walking in the footstep of the other,
Their hunters hunt, their builders build,
Their workers work and their queen makes babies,
So it is among them, Though different they all come together to make a strong community of Ants, or Bees,
They maybe tiny but they know the importance of each other.

With the sprouting of one leaf, a seed starts to grow,
From that sprout, a stem is formed, generates into many branches,
On each branch…
lot of tiny branches, on these, tiny branches,
A lot of leaves, producing food to feed the tree,
The branches may never look the same yet they are all part of the same tree, bearing leaves, food and fruits, and providing shades and shelter.
They each require each other to support the tree.

Ati gorglor dzi wonor na hafi tso dzordzor tor.
One must stand on a crooked branch to cut a straight branch.
We may be humans but we are also same as other creations.
We are different in many ways,
But in our difference lies our strength.
No two smooth surfaces can ever make a good bond when joined together.
We need each other to survive.
Ame ye nor na ame nuti hafi wo nye na zami.
(One needs help of another to go to the latrine by night).
These were the ideals that built our communities long long ago.
Kweku Anansa may be a tick star but not even he can tell his own tales,
someone else  must.
The asanka and the tapoli are always in a fight rubbing each other’s body against the other but even they know their fight is not against each other but so that they could produce a smooth well grinded paper

Our greatest strength as a human race is our ability to acknowledge our differences,
Our greatest weakness is our failure to embrace them
My way, your way. Our Way,
His way, Her way, Their way.
When put together makes one way
For we are each, Angels with one wing,
But we can fly by embracing one another.
Let’s stop believing that our differences make us superior or inferior to one another.
For we are all BRANCHES OF THE SAME TREE.

Grand Pa, Mr. Tehoda always wild and his fingers pointing..
Head of Teachers Disciplinary committee at the time, Timber, lives in the present but always talk in the past
“When I’m in the class teaching and I saw you talk again, I will came over there and lashed you”. One of his most typical expressions
Zikpokpo, I bet you can’t tell the difference between the Red Tokor Soil, and his favourite white camboo.
Want to Pass his Agric papers..It’s either AAAAA, Or BBBB or CCCC, the best marking scheme ever, RIP Milotual.
Monsieur Abalo, he never goes no where without his cane..
Interestingly even the most feeble will take staygger for even his best lashes

Dining time, the meals and the dwoe Pla..
No need to rush if you are friends with girls that share the food,
Or in my case if your big sis is very popular.
*******
Here is to those times in the dining hall when the meal is not ready and we have no choice than to wait,
Oh how the dining hall becomes a circus for boys will be spinning their plates at the tip of their fingers.
Some turn themselves into drummers with their spoons and knifes as their drum sticks, the table as the base drum, the silver plates as the cymbals and the gossip of the girls cacophonously rhyming as songs.
Charley: Amazing we go

Here is to the days when the bus will spoil and wouldn’t show up on time. How both juniors and seniors will struggle to be on board the last bus,
For that comes with it’s own trophies,
especially  when the bus had to go drop off the boys at Denu before sending the mixture to Viepe
Here is to the days when the bus arrives at Tokor and at the gate is F.K.
Oh how quickly our shots get pull up and the girls make up get wiped off.
To the days when you arrive only to find students hovering at the gate, You as and the response you get is school fees..
Oh how all pretend we are owing so we could roam in town
Yet some deliberately stay so they could get more "doe pla" dining  meal
*******
My ear still hurts as the result of the powerful sound from Mr. Alex’s kiosk as he mention some of Amazing love’s most largest families,
Binyam #1,#2, #3, #4,#5,#6,#7…and Kissward #1,#2,#3, #4,#5, #6,#7,..to wait was it 12 or 15
Charley, Amazing We Go
********
That sound effect when the plate or spoon drops in class and all you hear is…Boarders. Beautifully you can only relate to this if you passed through Tokor(J.H.S), I don’t now but for some reason, the classrooms never had cement floors, just like Tokor never had Mr.Alex’s kiosk
"Charley, Amazing We Go
******
We all had to wait for our turn..or queue up in a file...
Break time, Dining time, Closing time,
even boarders and day students turn to board the bus...
in this school i learnt one must wait his turn in life,
more importantly to book your place while waiting...
And so..
even Toilet..you'll hear student's 'Shouting Out Loud',
"I'm After You"
..Charley...Amazing We Go..."
Less than two weeks to the Launch, don't miss this.
Let’s rise up, build up and restore..
Now no b  the time we for they live on past glories,
We chop glories before, We chop trophies before, We chop achievements before
Individually, we are carving names for ourselves and leaving our footprints on the sands of time, like Amazing Love taught us.
To Hold Fast To What Is Good.

Here is to 30 years of Education,
Of the hassle in setting up a school,  Of the stormy and sunny days
Of the challenging and interesting moments
Here is to 13th June 1986, when  the seed of Amazing Love was planted,
So positive fertile was the soil that it’s leafs sprout from 13 pupils to covering over 84 pupils that same year.   They were in deed great farmers, Mr. Albert and Mrs. Fortune Lily Agbodo..In a small town geographically located at a GPS of 6.0958257 latitude and 1.1520964999999705 longitude.
Now we can boast of Nursery, kindergarten, Primary, Junior High and Senior High..With my very eyes I watch as the later started…

....WE WERE LOVERS

"Lorlornye nukae dzor nenema gbegbe?
Le nyatepeme la, nye me bui be egba avazu aleka o lo.
woenye nye dzi.
Wodeka pe nu koe ledzinam awu tugbedzei desiade.
Nusiatae le vevesese kple dzigbagbamea, mega le bibiam be nu kae dzo nenema gbegbe?"
And so as I sit on this log on the hills, upon which I first entered the chambers of your womanhood,
As I watch the sleepy sun set its bed beyond the horizons to,
And as I sip this palm wine of pain from the cracked skulls of a broken heart, these thoughts kept lingering in my mind;
How did we get here? Where did we go wrong?
What happened to our love and the promises?
Vows we vowed to each other on the chief priest’s sacred premises.
For we were lovers.
CEP.Sefogah, performing "We were Lovers" @ ALEWA 2015, with the palm-wine band
Rumor has it that in their younger years,
Your mama and my papa were lovers
Around the same too,
Your papa and my mama were also lovebirds.
And so when the jealous hands of faith switched their love stories around,
Pairing them apart, we were born.
Ohh I have listen to the elders tell the tales of our birth.
They said said on that day, bats sung and flew in daylight and it rained so heavily that the Rainbows, made Love to the Moon and the Stars rode on the back of the Sun as they arranged themselves in unison writing love in the sky, like i see in your eyes
Born on the same day at the hands of the same old lady,
Out doored under the auspices of the very traditional chief priest of the land,
The gods chose to smile upon us for they destined you and I from birth,
Even the gossips at the market square knew that for a certain.
I was your  Efo Korku and you, my  Davi Aku.
Ohh, I remember vividly, how every evening when we young, my mother will bath be and decorate my neck and chest with Korle Bu powder as she sends me running to your house to buy a bottle of Kerosene for the “torkpodogui” in our house.
Oh what a beauty  you were, a true epitome of African delight.
For you will come out of your fathers mud house with a piece of cloth around your chest and waist as your black soft body glitters in the reflection of the fire from your grandmother’s earth stove,
The older children said we were young and foolish but even then we both knew how we felt.
And so when I underwent the “tudedeasi” puberty ritual and my father’s gun given to me and I was dispatched with 17 other boys into the forest for our first hunting expedition, you were all I could think of.
Because of you I was the first to return with my pray resting on my shoulders and as the younger boys and girls run behind me naked and cheering me on,
I came straight into your house.
How I so badly wanted to share every bit of this meat with you and use its teeth to weave a necklace of my love around your neck,
How I so badly wanted to share with you the tales of my hunt, showing you the man I had grown into.
Little did I know that I was going to be ripped off this joy of love?
The stories of my first hunt became tales never to be told or heard.
Life tricked me and death stole you away from the grips of my love.
 You died too early.
And so as I await the break of dawn to bored the famous Gold Coast boneshaker bus away from this haunted town of lost loves,
I just want to take a moment to whisper to the winds that...
we...were...lovers.
